Christian Dior’s “A” line, most talked about of the new Paris silhouettes, as interpreted in the jacket costume which he calls “A” on Feb. 21, 1955. The narrow shoulders and spreading “A” of the silhouette are defined clearly in a three-quarter grey coat over a pleated skirt. The unbelted coat shapes in to suggest the high waistline which appears in many of Dior’s new fashions. He retains the high bustline of last season’s “H” line, but gives his new designs more shape and a “floating” waistline. (AP Photo)
